Joyce May “Granny” Rogers, 94 of Danville, died peacefully surrounded by her loving and adoring family on Monday, April 22, 2024. Visitation will be on Friday, April 26th from 11am-Noon at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Services will follow at 12pm with Bishop Scott Tillman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Joyce was born on May 16, 1929 in Oakwood to James Harvey Cole and Cecile Dot Cole. She was one of five children.
Joyce married Conrad Binns Rogers on June 6, 1953. Together they had two boys: Michael Lee and Paul Allen. They lived happily in the same home for over seventy years.
Joyce worked at Armour and Company, William Davies, Danville Gardens, and Steel Grip Safety and Apparel. Joyce found “joy” in keeping a tidy home and cooking for friends and family.
Joy was preceded in death by her husband Conrad and son Michael. She is survived by her son Paul (Donna); seven grandchildren: Rishya (Ed), Stephen (Debbie), James (Liya), David, Matthew, Elizabeth (Jeff), and Jonathan; sixteen great-grandchildren: Taylor, Kellsey, Alexander (“Spot”), Brandon, Courtney, Austin (Elizabeth), Jordan, Ella, Alaya, Chyanne, JJ, Annie, Arainna, Jaxson, Conner and Reybekah; and two great-great-grandchildren: Everett and Marigold.
Joyce was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed working in the yard, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her large family. She was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
