Ernest Jones Obituary

Ernest E. Jones Jr., 66, of Danville, passed away on Tuesday August 20, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Per his wishes, he will be cremated with no public services.

Ernest was born November 18, 1952 in Santa Maria, California to Ernest (Stella) Jones Sr. and Helen (Harrison) Kane. Ernest owned Clean Sweep Custodial Services in Danville. He enjoyed yard work and gardening, collecting coins, and taking his dog Lady to the dog park.

Ernest married Gail Thornton in 1973, and enjoyed 46 years of marriage, she survives. Also surviving are his parents; son: Aaron Jones; granddaughter Haley (Cody) Martin; grandson: Bradley Jones-Morgan; granddaughter Lily Smith; great-grandsons: Cameron Lee Martin and Tyson Aaron Ernest Martin; sister: Pamela Jones. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Patty and Tracy; and his mother-in-law Wanda Hazel.
