Harry “Max” D Purviance, 76, of Danville, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at home with his family. Visitation will be from 9:30am – 11:00am on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1930 N. Bowman Ave. in Danville. Service will follow at 11:00am Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Phillip Callahan officiating.
Max was born August 3, 1942 in Williamsport, Indiana to Charles and Mary (Clawson) Purviance. He worked at Berkley-Davis for 28 years before he retired in 1991. He was very good at being a handyman, and working on cars. He loved auctions and flea markets, and he loved nature, fishing, mushroom hunting and watching wildlife. Max loved to travel, and he was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church which he loved and was a very important part of his life.
Max enjoyed 57 years of marriage to his only love Nancy Blue Purviance, she survives. Also surviving include son Chris Purviance of Danville; brothers: Don (Sue) Purviance of California, Gary Purviance of New Mexico; sister Sharla DeWeese of California; and 5 nieces and nephews. Max was preceded by his parents; Brother-in-law Ron DeWeese; sister-in-law Polly Purviance; sister-in-law Bea Coan.
