Lillian Cooley Obituary

   Lillian Florence Cooley passed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on April 19, 2019 at the age of 91 at North Logan Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family.  Visitation will be from 9am-10:30am Wednesday April 24, 2019 at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville.  Service will follow at 10:30am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Patti Wise officiating.  Burial will follow at Danville National Cemetery.

   Lillian was born on February 13, 1928 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of Harry and Selma Fredericks Sr.  Lillian married Lowell H. Cooley Sr. on November 3, 1946, they were married 60 years, Lowell preceded her in death on July 26, 2007.  Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Delores, 2 brothers Arnold Fredericks and Harry C. Fredericks Jr.

   Lillian was a member of Union Corner United Methodist Church in Danville and previously attended Old Vermilion Chapel Church in Kennekuk Park.  She attended both grade school and high school in Danville.

   Lillian and Lowell farmed the “Old Cooley Farm” from 1946 to 1970.  They enjoyed farming and raising their three sons on this farm which is now part of Kennekuk County Park.  After the State claimed the farm for the park they enjoyed their remaining years together on East Winter Ave where they always had a large garden of vegetables and strawberries that they loved sharing with family and friends.

   Lillian is survived by one brother:  William (Billy) Fredericks of Danville, three sons: Lowell (Ruth) Jr, Harry (Barb), and Marvin (Pam); five grandchildren: Bryan (Becky) Cooley, Brad (Stephanie) Cooley, Mistie Wiedle, Erin (Adam) Will, Joshua Cooley; 11 great-grandchildren:  Mackenzie, Christian, Gabriel, Isabella, Carter, Gavin, Emerson, Carson, Charlize, Breana, and Bryce.

   Lillian/Mom/Grandma/GiGi will be sadly missed by all who knew her – especially Erin who deeply loved her Grandma.  The family would like to thank North Logan Health Care Center for the excellent care during her stay.
