Norman Wayne Pierson, 94, of Danville, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka, Illinois. Visitation will be Friday, December 6, 2019 from 10am – noon at Harvest Time Christian Center, 312 Gibson Street, Georgetown, Illinois. Service will be at noon on Friday at Harvest Time Christian Center. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Danville.
Norman was born February 23, 1925 to Edgar and Lydia (Hollingsworth) Pierson. Norman was a US Army Squad Leader Staff Sergeant in World War II. He was an excellent carpenter, working multiple jobs in construction. He retired as a maintenance supervisor from Commercial-News after 26 years. Norman was a licensed minister, and enjoying visiting prisons and nursing homes sharing the gospel of Christ. He was instrumental in building and a devoted member of Harvest Time Christian Center.
Norman married Bessie Ramona Karakachos on May 6, 1945, and they shared 50 years of marriage until her passing in 1995. Survivors include children Connie (Bill) Tallman, Cathy (Ken) Mumford, Claudia (Tom) Malone, Pam Baldwin; 13 Grandchildren; 21 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; Sister Marilyn Heidrick; sister-in-law Jean Pierson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bessie, grandson Timothy Paul Jones, and many brothers and sisters.
