Alfred Steiner Obituary

Alfred Emil Steiner of Danville, IL passed away peacefully on May 9th, 2026 at the Goldwater Care Hospice Nursing home. He was 76 years old.

Alfred was born October 16, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY to Paul and Meta Steiner. He graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, NY. He had three siblings: Siegmund (Paul) deceased, Stephan (Steve) deceased, and Sieglind Hadley (sister) currently living in Danville, IL.

Prior to his stroke in 2014 Alfred attended Hillery Bible Chapel. As a professing believer in Jesus Christ throughout his life, we rejoice and trust that he is now with our Savior and we will see him again!

Alfred worked for a while with the New York Telephone Company. Moving to Philadelphia with his parents, he worked for many years as a machinist for Krick Precision (owned by his cousin Reinhold Krick). After the Lord called his parents home in 1995, he moved to Danville IL to be near Sieglind. He also worked for the Danville Housing Authority for several years.

Alfred was a trains and model railroad enthusiast. He also maintained an active, life-long interest in motorcycles, cars, music, coins, stamps, weaponry, and woodworking as well as military and family history. He was also experienced in mechanical repairs and was known by many for his welding expertise.

Alfred is survived by Sam & Sieglind Hadley, sister-in-law Karen Steiner and his loving and caring nephews and nieces: Douglas Steiner (Lois), Debbie Kirtland (Ralph), Peter Steiner (Cathy), Stephan Steiner (Nicole), Stephanie Schatteman (Mark), Troy Steiner (Christie), Tyler Steiner (Courtney), Tedd Hadley (Christina), Mark Hadley, Timothy Hadley (Joy), Nathan Hadley (Jeanine) and Andrew Hadley (Sally).
