Ann and Lloyd were high school sweethearts and members of the first graduating class of Schlarman High School in 1949.  She continued her education later in life, earning both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Eastern Illinois University while in her fifties.  She worked as a legal secretary for many years, and was engaged in the real estate business with her husband.  While her children were young, she was a stay-at-home mom.  Her retirement was in 1996 from the Danville VA Medical Center.

She enjoyed her home, writing stories about her family and playing and teaching piano.  For many years she played organ at the Catholic churches in Danville.  In recent years, several of Ann’s stories about her family were published.  Raising her family was her proudest achievement in life.  Her greatest joy was having her children at home for holidays and family celebrations.  She had a strong sense of family and love for her husband, children, and grandchildren.  With that came a deep pride in them and their accomplishments.  Ann was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westville.  In 1973, she founded Birthright of Danville, a pro-life organization and was its director until 1988.  She believed strongly in the Right to Life for everyone, from conception to natural death, and worked in the pro-life movement for many years.  She had been a Women’s Care Clinic and Faith in Action volunteer.
