Barbara J. Pickett, 71 of Tampa, FL and formerly of Danville, passed away on August 31, 2025 at St. Josephs Main Hospital in Tampa after a long battle with cancer. Per her wishes, she chose cremation with no services and to have her ashes scattered where she grew up in the Georgetown area.

Barb worked at USF (University of Southern Florida) for over twenty years until she retired in 2016. She enjoyed taking trips to the parks (like Graceland), driving her 2013 Camaro, taking lots of pictures, and family gatherings. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends, and loved every Facebook friend she had. Barb had a passion for houseplants.
Barb married Dan Pickett and the two remined close friends until her the very end. She leaves behind her two children: Danny (Samantha) Pickett Jr and Melissa A Pickett (Felipe Franklin); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings: Patty (Jack) Harper, her twin Beverly (Tom) Ciotuszynski, Marilyn (Don) Smith, Steven (Janey) Martin, and Dominick “Nick” Martin; close friends: Irene Cassa, Brenda and Ken Earnest, and Mary F.
