Bonita Kay Winters (Lewis) died unexpectedly at Hawthorn Estates on April 9th, 2020 in Danville, Illinois at the age of 60.
Bonita is survived by her daughter Rosetta Strawser, brother Manuel Lewis, and sister Loretta Slinkard. She is lovingly remembered by her best friend of 25 years, Caroline Provot.
Bonita is above watching over her grandchildren: Seth, Dakota, Michael, William and Beau, as well as, her adopted grandchildren: Ashlyn, Jacob, Ezrah, Nathanial (Tiffany Russell), Acelynn, Paisley (Felisha Thrower), Aurora, Danika, Altimus (Jessica Crippin), Eliyjah, Ezreall, Leora, Zurenity, Nikole, Bric (Daniel Walter), Lilly, Noah, Ariel (Dakota Walter) Xavier, Nemo (Eva Howard), Makayla, Kalab Jr., Bryson, and Stella.
Bonita is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Manuel Jr, Jonathan, Donna, Daniel (Manuel Lewis Sr.), Bruce, Aileen (Loretta Slinkard), Magen, Amber, C.J., and Frank (Clyde Lewis Jr.) She is lovingly looking after her many great nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son William Winters, father Clyde Lewis Sr., mother Donna Lewis, and brother Clyde Lewis Jr.
Bonita was born September 16th, 1959 in Bluffton, Indiana to Donna and Clyde Lewis. She later married William Winters Sr and had two children: Rosetta and William. During her life, she obtained a degree in accounting and retired several years ago.
She is remembered most for adopting many people in need of loving family and being a pillar of strength in Faith. Bonita enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, crochet, and knitting. She enjoyed studying her Bible, watching her many grandchildren grow, and serving the congregation at Holiday Hills Family Church. She touched many with her kind spirit, love of God, and belief that everyone deserved to have an adopted loving aunt or grandmother in their lives.
