Carol Sue Ford, 87 of Danville, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. She passed very peacefully and was surrounded by those she loved. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 12th from 9-11am at First Baptist Church, 1211 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. Services will immediately follow at 11am with Pastor Paul Rebert officiating. Burial will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Carol was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on August 7, 1937 to Howard and Mabel (Beamon) Park. She graduated from Danville High School in 1955. In junior high, Carol began dating Kenneth Ford, her neighbor across the street. The two were later married at First Baptist Church on June 8, 1957 and they have spent the past sixty-eight years by one another’s sides.
Carol enjoyed gardening- especially flowers, was an avid bird watcher, and liked to crochet blankets and afgans. She and Kenneth enjoyed traveling all over the United States, going to most of the National Parks and most of the states, and were snowbirds-spending every winter in Florida for nearly fifteen years. The two enjoyed walking the beach looking for shells and shark’s teeth.
Carol held one of the most important jobs in the world- that of a wife, a mother, and a homemaker. She made their house a home, ensuring it was decorated for every holiday, and ready for Sunday afternoon dinner each week.
She leaves behind her loving husband: Kenneth Ford; her children: Bruce (Anne) Ford, Pam (Chris) Albin, Jeff (Shannan) Ford, Deb (Bryan) Baker, and Brad (Lisa) Ford; her sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Michael, and a brother Bob Park.
