Carolyn S. Coan, 68 of Danville, left us peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 8th at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville from 3-6pm and the family invites everyone to wear their favorite Cub or Illini attire. Services will be on Monday at 10am at Kruger Funeral Home, with Duane Collins officiating. Carolyn will take one last ride around the neighborhood (4th Avenue to 9th street, around the Danville Stadium and back) prior to processing to Oak Ridge Cemetery in Catlin. We invite the neighbors to come out and give us a wave to pay their last respects.
Carolyn was born in Danville on April 3, 1956 to George and Alberta (Wright) Anderson. She spent her childhood in Danville and Covington, attending Covington High School. Carolyn worked at many places throughout the years, but her favorite jobs were managing the Clark Gas Stations in Danville, bartending at Bulan’s, and being the Transportation Supervisor for CRIS Senior Services.
Carolyn enjoying bowling and playing horseshoes, and played on many leagues throughout the years, creating hundreds of friends that became like family. She was very proud of the 290 game she bowled several years ago, as well as her induction into The Bowling Hall of Fame. She was an amazing cook, loved Christmas, and never missed one of her grandchildren’s games or events. BINGO, slot machines, and trips to the boats were a favorite past time of hers, and the Illini and Cubs were usually on the TV.
In 1999, while bartending at Bulan’s, Carolyn met the love of her life Don Coan, and the two were married on October 21, 2000 at Sarge’s. The two of them have spent the last twenty-four years by one another’s sides. She leaves behind her husband Don; her children: Jackie White, Janet (Mike) McMasters, Travis Eversole, and Ryan Coan; seven grandchildren: Dustin White (Emily Morrison), Bryce (Jennifer) Spickard, Weiland Eversole (Jasmine Tinder), Layne Eversole, Brooklynn White, Brylee Davis, and Paisley Eversole; and six great-grandchildren: Emersyn, Sophia, Memphis, Jayden, Raiden, and Jayden B. Her two sisters: Sandra (Brooks) Hegg Pugh and Marilyn (Aaron) Woliung and her sister-in-law: Jeanette Anderson will also greatly miss her, as well as her fur baby Bella. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother George Anderson.
