Charles “Chuck” Oscar Treadway, 69, of Danville, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at OSF Sacred Heart Hospital in Danville. Visitation will be from 10-12pm on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Southside Church of the Nazarene, 1629 King Street, Tilton, Illinois. Service will follow at 12pm at Southside Church of the Nazarene, with burial to follow at Oakhill Cemetery. IDPH guidelines will be strictly followed regarding gathering limitations, masks and social distancing.
Chuck was born April 6, 1951 in Danville to Leonard and Celia (Palmer) Treadway. He married Joyce Ann Norwell on October 10, 1970, she survives. Also surviving are his children: Daughter Charlette (Justin) Jones, Son Shane (Lisa) Treadway, Daughter Lorraine (William) Sherman, Daughter Megankay Treadway, and Daughter Maizy Treadway. Also surviving are several foster children special mention Jennifer, Tiffany, and Beth. He is also survived by his brother Richard (Tama) Treadway and sister in law Dorothy Treadway. Also surviving are his grandchildren Devin Treadway, Liam Sherman, Allison Jones, Zoee Sherman, Austin Jones, Tyce Treadway, and Malachi Sherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Celia Treadway, brothers Terry and Donald Treadway, sister Violet Cockrell, two grandsons Dominick Sherman and Nathaniel Jones.”
Chuck worked as a heavy duty mechanic for 27 years for the City of Danville in the streets and sewers department. He retired in 2007. He was a member of Iliana Antique Auto Club and the Danville Vintage Rods. He loved working on vehicles, going to junkyards and looking for parts. He was most proud of the antique truck and car that he restored. He loved attending and showing at antique car shows. He loved to fish and he hunted for mushrooms in the spring. He also enjoyed wood working. Most of all he loved going on vacations and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed.
