Charles Winchester Obituary

Charles L. Winchester, 78, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. There will be a private family service, with entombment at Sunset Memorial Park.

Charles was born September 13, 1941 in Mason, Illinois to Charles E. and Virginia M. (Bushue) Winchester. Charles graduated from Effingham High School. For 30 years, he worked at Teepak until he retired in 2003. He loved the 13 years he spent umpiring little league baseball at the Central Foundry Ballpark. He was a big Illini and NASCAR fan. Charles loved to spend time with his family and grandkids.

Charles married Nancy Burch on August 5, 1961 in Effingham. Surviving include his wife Nancy; children: Douglas (Asha) Winchester, and Pamela (Stephen) Lane; grandchildren: Jacob Lane, Justin Winchester, and Jonas Lane; brother Jim Winchester. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson Colton Winchester.

The family is grateful to the staff at DaVita Dialysis for providing their special care for Charles.
