Charles E. ‘Chuckie” Harmeson Jr, 61 of rural Danville, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital. Per his wishes, Chuckie was an organ donor and has chosen to be cremated after. A celebration of his life will be on Saturday, January 28th from 1-6pm at Sarge's, 409 E. Main Street in Danville.
Chuckie was born on January 29, 1961 in Danville to Charles and Charlotte (Cope) Harmeson, who preceded him in death as well as his grandparents. Chuckie attended Oakwood Township High School. He was a tradesman and there was nothing he wouldn’t try to fix. His master trade was carpet laying that he was taught by his Dad. Chuckie loved watching his Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Fighting Illini. He also loved to read, watch westerns on TV, and was fascinated with old cars. As a youth he enjoyed hunting and working on cars.
Most recently, Chuckie could be found at the Halfway Inn, where he was the custodian and resident barkeep, or at the Big 4. Everyone that knew him, loved him.
Chuckie is survived by his siblings: Steve (Donna) Harmeson, Vickie (Don) Albright, Nancy (Tom) Horton, Lisa (Dewey) McClain, and Brian Harmeson; his nieces: Crystal Lewis, Angela Smith, Brande Winchester, and Nakita McClain; and his nephew: Tyler Harmeson. He also leaves behind his six great nephews; two great nieces; his lifelong best friends: Jeff and Damie; and his bonus nieces: Marci, Kelli, and Jessi.
A special Thank You goes out to all of his friends who have helped with food and transportation. And we can all be rest assured that he is now reunited with his best friends, his saint bernards- Snuggles and Major.
