Christopher Hamick (Slappy) went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2026 at the age of 51 after battling a serious heart condition for the past several years.
He graduated from Danville High School in 1993 and spent most of his adult life in Florida. Slappy was a proud member of the Fernandina Pirates Club for many years. The Club is a community service organization that serves and entertains the city of Fernandina Beach, Florida.
Chris was a friendly, kind and caring person who valued loyalty among his many friends. He was loved and will be missed by his many friends and his family.
He is survived by his mother Roberta Maskel, father David Hamick, sister Amy Hamick, niece Ashley Constans, aunt Nancy Dubre, and cousin Scott Dubre. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Melvin and Sarah Hamick and Katie and Frank Ibbotson.
We would like to thank the Nipper and Mann families in Fernandina Beach, Fl. for loving and caring for Slappy the past two years.
A celebration of Chris’s life will be held on June 7th from 2-4pm Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St in Danville.
