Donald Wayne Barnes passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at the VA with his family by his side. He was born May 11, 1951 to Donald Ralph Barnes and Thelma June (Anderson) Barnes.
Don was a proud U.S. Army veteran serving from 1969 to 1975. He was stationed in Vietnam and Germany. He was a member of Laborers
Local 624, working many years with Hanson Masonry. Don enjoyed many hobbies throughout the years, including fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking and photography. He enjoyed watching old Westerns, classic movies and old tv shows. Don was a strong willed, honest, caring man. We will miss him very much.
Don is survived by his sisters, Kathie Walker and Dena (Jess) Jenkins; nieces and nephews, Tracey, Kelli, Jaymes, Nicole, Jess II and Bryan and a special aunt, Patty Anderson. Don was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carla (Barnes) Doggett.
Per his wishes, there will be no service. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted on Thursday, September 25th at 10:30 am at Greenwood Cemetery.
