Donald A Porter, 86 of Danville, joined his loved ones in Heaven on Monday, February 10, 2025. Per his wishes, Don has requested cremation with no services.
Don was born July 12, 1938 at home to Kenneth and Ruth (Caskey) Porter in Wetzel, Illinois. He was raised in the Chrisman area where he attended school. After graduating, he entered into the US Army where he served stateside. Following his time in the service he worked at TeePak which he would later retire from in 2001. He met his wife Carol through friends at TeePak, and they were married on September 28, 1959, spending sixty-three years together until her passing in 2021.
Don liked to garden, ride his tractor, keep his yard neat, and most of all spend time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He enjoyed watching Cubs baseball and Illini basketball.
Don leaves behind his daughter Nicole Wilson; three grandchildren: Jessica White (Seth Peevler), Dustin (Jordan) Morris, and Dalton Wilson (Sara Grubb); five great-grandchildren: Zofia, Ammi, Gavin, Paisley, and Lily; and a brother: Paul Porter. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carol, two sisters: Nancy and Mary Bell, two brothers: John and Steve Porter, and a son-in-law: Robert Wilson.
