Doris Marie Dieu, 95 of Danville, left us peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Accolade Healthcare. Visitation will be from Noon-1pm on Friday, February 16th at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Funeral Services will begin at 1pm by Pastor Dan Kitinoja. Following services Doris will be buried at Oak Hill Cemetery beside her husband Eugene.
Doris was born on November 30, 1928 in Danville to Claude and Ellen (Young) Coppenbarger. She attended Oaklawn Grade School and Danville High School, graduating in 1946. Shortly after graduating, Doris met the love of her life Eugene Dieu and the two were married on May 19, 1948. Doris enjoyed raising her children and making their house a home. Doris enjoyed sewing and crocheting, toyed in ceramics for many years, and liked to not only read but also write poetry. As her children grew, she began working outside the home, and was a familiar face at Woodbury’s Office Supply for several years. In her later years, Doris loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending all of their activities.
Doris leaves behind her two children: Karen (David) Stimac and Gary Dieu; five grandchildren: Troy Stimac, Travis Stimac, Molly Stimac, Amanda Sams, and Peter Dieu; two great-grandchildren: Reese Anderson and Brooklyn Dieu; and a special great niece: Robyn Weber. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene, a brother: Neil Coppenbarger, and two sisters: Evelyn Paluzzi and Barbara Parks.
