Dorothy Ellen (Bauer) Crane

Dororthy Ellen Crane, 73 of Danville, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.

   Dorothy was born on October 2, 1952 in Danville to Cecil and Marjorie (Peer) Bauer.  She attended Danville schools, graduating from DHS in 1972. Dorothy worked at a local sewing shop and most recently in housekeeping at the Days Inn. Dorothy enjoyed her solitude and liked to live simply. She enjoyed reading- anything she could get her hands on, and also watching movies on TV. She was also close to her sister Virginia and talked with her at least once a day.

  Dorothy leaves behind her two sisters: Virginia Welker and Mary Moore, as well as a brother: Chester Bauer. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Bonnie and Helen, and a brother: Cecil Jr.
