Dorothy “Dot” Reese, 92 of Fairmount, joined her loved ones in Heaven on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at her home. A Memorial Visitation will be on Saturday, January 11th at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville from 10-11am with services following at 11am with Pastor Chuck Powell officiating.
Dot was born April 30, 1932 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Lambert and Mabel (Jacobsen) Larson. She attended Little Falls Community High School. Dot was a people person and every job she worked reflected that; she worked as a phone operator at Rochester Methodist Hospital, an assembly line worker at Motorola, delivered meals for CRIS Senior Services in Oakwood, was a caretaker for the elderly in their homes, and was a Dietary Aide at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. Above all else, her most important job in life was raising her children and taking care of her family.
Dot enjoyed watching old Westerns, Game Shows, and the Minnesota Vikings playing football. She loved horses, despite being thrown from one as a child, and enjoyed reading a good Amish or Western novel. Her family was the most important part of her life, and her great grandchildren never failed to put a smile on her face. Dot was a longtime member of Oakwood First Evangelical Methodist Church, joining in 1973.
Dot leaves behind her children: Sheryl Reese, Cynthia (Ferrell) Stroh, and Michael (Kelly) Reese; her grandchildren: Bonnie (Cliff) Faraci, Valori (Jan) Mejia, Melissa (Steve) Mann, Jordan (Heather) Reese, Janelle Reese, and Joseph Reese; great-grandchildren: Clifford, Josh, Brett, Katelyn, Brandt, Jayden, Anthony, Isabella, Bentley, Abel, and Zoey; and her great-great grandchildren: Emilio and Ezekiel. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, a son Stephen Reese, five brothers: Lambert, Robert, Donald, Kenneth, and Gerald; a sister Irene, four nieces, and a nephew.
