Gerald Forrest Quick, 90 of Perrysville and formerly of Westville and Danville, passed away in his home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Per his wishes, he will be cremated and privately laid to rest beside the love of his life, Marie, in Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery in Westville.
Gerald was born September 24, 1932 in Danville to Thomas and Lela (Pritchard) Quick. He attended Grant Grade School and Danville High School. Gerald enlisted in the US Army shortly after graduation and proudly served his county. He was a hard worker and an entrepreneur by trade. Throughout the years he owned at least six successful small businesses, with the most recent being Quick Pools. Gerald enjoyed being outdoors and was still doing his own lawn work just a few weeks ago.
Gerald married Marie Elizabeth Sleva in October of 1954 and the two shared only twenty-one years together before her death in 1975. He leaves behind his two children: Marve Quick and Alyson Morris; three grandchildren: Justin, Ashley, Johnnie; a great granddaughter: Brooklyn; his longtime companion Phyllis Rutan; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marie, his brothers Carl and Paul; and his sisters Pauline and Eileen.
