Harold Evan Hamp, 101 of Sturgis, Michigan and a longtime Danville resident, passed from this life to the next on Monday, November 22, 2021. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at between 12 & 12:15pm at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville with Pastor Phil Jackson officiating.
Harold was born on August 24, 1920 in Westfield, Illinois to Harry and Olive (Lee) Hamp. He graduated high school the late 1930’s and began his career as a Mechanic. Harold was a Sergeant of the US Army, serving during WWII as part of the 256th Medium Maintenance Company. Harold co-owned his business, The Hamp and Klage Garage, during the 1960’s and 1970’s in Danville.
Harold married Lucile Constans on April 19, 1973 and she preceded him in death in 1997. He leaves behind his two daughters: Linda (Phil) Roberts and Carla (Dan) Epperson; a stepson: Robert (Pat) Constans; his sister: Letha Wartsbaugh; grandchildren: Josh Roberts, Olivia Peacock Epperson, Victoria Epperson, Brad Constans, Scott Constans, Missy Constans, and Todd Constans; and several great-grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Lucile, as well as a sister Pauline Burris, and a stepson and his wife: David (Marilyn) Constans.
