Harriett Ruth Adams, 91 of Danville, went to be with The Lord on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Accolade Healthcare in Danville. Visitation will be from 10-11am on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Kruger Coan Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Services will follow at 11am with Aaron Kimmel officiating. Following services, she will be laid to rest beside her husband Bob, together forever, in Spring Hill Cemetery. Per CDC and Illinois Dept. of Public Health guidelines, mandatory masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced.
Harriett was born on August 25, 1930 in Danville to Harry and Esther (Schafer) Gibson. She attended Danville schools and was always very proud to say she was from Danville; specifically Vermilion Heights. Harriett married Robert Adams on December 24, 1949 in Henderson, Kentucky and the two were blessed to share sixty-five years together before his passing in 2014. Harriett enjoyed being a homemaker and a mother. She could often be found playing rummy, enjoying car rides, going to the River Boats for the slot machines, and was a lifelong Cubs fan. Her most precious time was the yearly trips she took to Schafer Lake-just her, Bob and the girls.
Harriett leaves behind her two children: Kathy Mathis and Jimmy Adams, her two granddaughters: Stephanie Mathis and Hilary Mathis; and her sister: Jean Gorham. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, and two sisters: Christina Yoho and Shirley Cox.
