James H. Mariage, 83 of Georgetown, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Pleasant Meadows in Chrisman. Per his wishes, he will be cremated, with private family burial at Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown.
James was born December 5, 1936 in Taylorville, Illinois to Henry and Dora Evelyn (Ryland) Mariage. James is a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He worked for over 34 years at local coal mines. Later he worked at Autozone until he retired. When he was able, he enjoyed woodworking, he was an avid Illini fan, and took great pride in the upkeep of his yard.
James married Judith Middlemas on September 13, 1980, she survives. Also surviving include 2 children: Melissa (John) Lacey, and John (Aimee) Unakis; 4 grandchildren: Kristen, Chad, Erika, Autumn; 4 great-grandchildren: Jayah, Greyson, Addison, and Eleanor; sister: Judy (Don) Galyen; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
