Jim Cook, 66 of Danville, was reunited with his loved ones in Heaven on Thursday, April 25, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be at 11am on May 11, 2024 at Edgewood Baptist Church, 236 Poland Road in Danville.
Jim was born June 14, 1957 in Danville to Russell and Barbara (Lee) Cook; he and his twin brother Jeffrey were right in the middle of a total of fifteen children. He attended Danville schools, and then entered the working world at the age of fourteen in fast food. Jim worked in construction for over thirty-five years for many different companies, including Reynolds Construction before he retired in 2007.
When he wasn’t working, Jim enjoyed watching Hell’s Kitchen and listening to music in his “man cave.” He knew his way around the kitchen and enjoyed cooking and baking everything but chocolate fudge. His granddaughter Olivia “Itty Bitty” was the apple of his eye, and the two shared many movie nights together.
Jim married Debora Amos on June 2, 1984 and the two have enjoyed living their lives together for the past thirty-nine years. Survivors include his loving wife Debora; his two children: Amber (Sevren) House and Jeffery Cook; one granddaughter: Olivia; and eight brothers and sisters: Tim Cook, Larry Cook, John Cook, Robert Cook, Tom Cook, Jane Wilson, Peg Barker, and Mary Cook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by parents, his twin brother Jeffrey, and his other siblings: Red, Dan, Russell, Pam, and Linda.
