Jerry Cranmore

Jerry Cranmore, 86, passed away Sunday November 12, 2023. Jerry was born August 4, 1937 in Rockford, Illinois. On July 27, 1958, Jerry married his high school sweetheart Marcia Lou (Ingram) Cranmore whom he was married to for 62 years.

   Jerry is survived by their two children Denise (Howard) Long and Kerry (Jill) Cranmore; three grandchildren Nicole Shaw, Cody Cranmore and Kacey (Daniel) Bowen; four great-grandchildren Rhiannon Shaw, Ryen Shaw, Ellie Bowen, and Sophie Bowen.  

   Jerry is preceded in death by a beloved son, his wife, Marcia; his parents Gordon and Dorothy Cranmore; and his brother, Robert Howell. 

   In 1956, Jerry graduated from Bismarck High School. He was also a graduate of Danville Area Community College. Jerry was an owner and mechanic of G & J Auto Parts. Jerry served on the Danville Police Department for 20 years and retired as a Sargeant. He went on to pursue an education in accounting. Later he retired a second time as security at the Federal courthouse. After retirement he enjoyed fishing at Kentucky Lake and spending time with family.

   Visitation will be from 11-1pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Danville Police Honor Guard will stand guard during our visitation and have a flag presentation ceremony at 1pm. Graveside services will follow at Gundy Cemetery at 1:45pm.
