Jerry Jay Davis, 91, died on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Honor House at the Danville VA Medical Center. Per his wishes he will be cremated and a celebration of life will be planned in the future.
Jerry was born on April 25, 1931 in Collison, Illinois to Walter J. and Dorthea (Miller) Davis. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1948 and served until 1952. Upon returning from the service he began his career as a handyman and jack of all trades, dabbling in painting and other odd jobs. He was a spectacular artist and many of his hand drawn portraits graced the walls of local establishments such as the former MOOSE in Danville.
Jerry leaves behind a son Louis “Jay” Davis; three grandchildren: Cheyenne, Skylar, and Averi; and a brother Scott Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ron, and a sister Marsha.
