Jerry Lee Glines, 78 of Danville, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. Per his wishes, he has chosen to be cremated and a Memorial Visitation will be from 1-2pm on Monday, December 16th at Faith Church of Christ, 3601 Quaker Lane. A Memorial Service will follow at 2pm at the church with Bill Carpenter officiating.
Jerry was born on March 28, 1946 in Danville to James and Ruby (Hunt) Glines. He attended Westville, Georgetown and North Vermillion schools, graduating from North Vermillion High School in 1966. He enlisted in the Marine Corp Reserves and served very proudly. Jerry worked at the Danville PSB, Brazelton Security, was Chief of Police for Potomac Police Dept, and he finished his career as Chief of Police at the Rossville Police Dept. He also worked as a truck driver and at Burke Spring Shop for a short time.
When he wasn’t at work, Jerry was a collector of diecast cars and trucks, as well as Coca Cola memorabilia. He worked on old lawn mowers and enjoyed working in his yard.
Jerry met Julie Randolph in 1978 and the two began a two-year courtship; they later married on March 21, 1980 at Bismarck Church of Christ. He leaves behind his wife Julie; his children: Carrie (Ron) Warren, Eugene (Jeannie) Glines, Angela Glines (Ron Price), and Valarie Glines; eighteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley (Al) Greene and Kathy Glines, and two brothers: Donald (Mary) Glines and Mike (Teri) Glines. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Marilyn (Mark) Jones, a son: Darrell Glines, and a granddaughter.
