Jerry Lee Jeffries

   Jerry Lee Jeffries, 88 of Danville, joined his beloved wife Mary in Heaven on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. Per his wishes, a graveside service will be at 10am on Saturday, March 18th at Oak Hill Cemetery (off of Shangri la road in Danville) with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating.

   Jerry was born on February 17, 1935 in Danville to Edward and Lavina (Hardesty) Jeffries. He attended McKinley and Washington Grade Schools and Danville High School, graduating in 1953. He also attended Danville Junior College for a short time. In 1957 Jerry enlisted in the US Army and later the Army Reserves. He worked for Van Huesen in sales, served as a Danville Auxiliary Police Officer, and spent the end of his career working at the Danville Correction Center in the finance department. When he was younger and able, Jerry enjoyed going to the shooting range and fishing.  

   On February 11, 1956 Jerry married Mary Marlene Miller before enlisting in the military. Upon his return they began their life together, enjoying forty-seven years together before her passing in April of 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bill.
