Jerry Wayne Pankow, 80 of Fairmount, left this world suddenly on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at OSF Sacred Heart in Danville. Visitation will be from 11-1pm on Tuesday, January 11th at Kruger Coan Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Services will follow at 1pm with Adam Harmon officiating, and burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery off of Shangri-la Road.
Jerry was born to William and Daisy (Pridemore) Pankow in Saint Joseph, Illinois on July 1, 1941. He attended Catlin and Diamond Grade Schools and Oakwood High School. Upon finishing school, Jerry worked at Hyster, ESCO, and Chuckles before finishing his career at Danville Housing Authority. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed attending auctions and oil painting. He held a deep love for his family and would do anything for his grandchildren; never missing a sporting event or school program. Jerry also held a deep appreciation and love for music, and enjoyed playing radio games to pass the time on family road trips.
On September 5, 1959, Jerry married Delia Darlene Estock and the two have shared sixty-two wonderful years together. He leaves behind his beloved Delia; his two daughters: Sheryl Baumeister and Lori (Shane) Kirby; and five grandchildren: Madison, Mackenzie and Brittney Kirby, Amie Baumeister, and Andy (Jayde) Baumeister; and two great grandchildren: Declan and Dryce. Jerry will also be greatly missed by his brother Frederick ‘Rick” (Judi) Pankow; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronald Pankow.
