Joan was born on January 15, 1942 to Leonard and Mildred (Sturm) Dick in St. James, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in Minnesota, and upon graduation, left for New York City to do work with the Convent. While traveling with the convent on the East coast, she was attending classes at a local college where she met Joseph Drejewski. The two later went for coffee, and the rest is history. On October 31, 1964 the two married in Philadelphia, and traveled with his job for several years.
In her younger years, Joan enjoyed attending daily mass and praying the rosary, as well as attending Prayer Group and Bible Study. She enjoyed taking daily walks, and being outside in her flower garden. She was a fan of hummingbirds and angels, and she enjoyed listening to Christian music and reading mysteries when her health allowed.
Joan and Joseph spent nearly thirty-five years together before his passing in October of 2000. Joan leaves behind her four children: Mary Drejewski, Joseph Drejewski, Walter “Butch” (Brenda) Drejewski, and Anne (Gary) Cole; seven grandchildren: Andrew, Luke, Logan, Katie, Hannah, Joey, and Emma; and her brother Duane (Pat) Dick. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph; her siblings: Betty and Roger; and a grandson Jonas Michael.
