John A. Kirkham, 84 of Terre Haute, IN, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 21st, 2026. Mass will be at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1303 N. Walnut Street in Danville on Friday, April 24th, 2026 at 11am CST with Father John Cyr officiating. Visitation will be one-hour prior from10-11am CST. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 210.
John was born on November 6, 1941 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Cecil and Merrill (Lake) Kirkham. He attended Terre Haute schools, graduating and later enlisting in the US Air Force from August 24, 1959 to August 23, 1963. He then entered into the US Navy from January 15, 1965 to January 3, 1967 where he proudly served during the Vietnam conflict. Upon returning from the service he began a nearly thirty-six year career as a US Postal Worker until his retirement in 2006. John enjoyed working. He helped on a local farm and enjoyed it with a great passion. He and his wife Ann loved to travel- from cruises to trips to Hawaii and Ireland; they loved to be with one another.
John married Ann Tillotson on October 8, 2011 and the two were only allowed a short five years together before her passing in 2016. He leaves behind his children: Troy (Jennifer) Kirkham, Jennifer (Anthony) Price, and Darla (Bob) Taylor; his bonus children Chris (David) Clark and Holly (Bill) Bradley; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ann, four brothers: Merle, Gerald, Donald, and Gail; and four sisters: Maxine, Barbara, Shirley, and Sharon.
