Beloved Joseph W. Pounds, 70 passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 22,2025 at his home in Danville IL surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Taylorville Illinois, the youngest son of Elizabeth and Roy Pounds of Taylorville.
Joe is survived by his wife Amie Pounds, children Nicole Pounds and Cailub Pounds (wife Natasha), brother Richard Pounds (wife Hilda) sister Kristine Colclasure, sister Mona Ream (husband Terry) and the many loved nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his father Roy Pounds, mother Elizabeth Pounds Warren, step father Dale Warren, brother Douglas Pounds, sisters Diane Winchester, Nancy Kevie, and Louverda Marcus.
Joe’s greatest pleasure during his life has always been time with his family. He loved spending time at Danville Stadium, manning the grill at his infamous backyard bbq, mushroom hunting in the woods, or fishing especially Halibut. Joe was a comedian, and would make everyone laugh. Joe was a hard worker always sacrificing his body rain or shine. Joe was a friend to many and a stranger to none.
A celebration of life will be held at Kruger Pape Funeral home located at 10 E Williams Danville IL on Thursday February 27, 2025 from 4-6 pm. Please join us in celebrating the life and times of Spankin Joe Pounds. We look forward to seeing everyone and hearing the stories you have to share. There will be an Irish salute to Joe at 5pm.
