Joshua 'Critter" Bland Jr Obituary

Joshua Bland Jr., “Critter/Critty” 25, left us unexpectedly on December 4th, 2023. He was born February 10th, 1998 in Phoenix, Arizona, the son of Joshua and Karri (Beedle) Bland Sr.

He leaves behind so many people who loved him, including his parents, two siblings: Leanne and Robby Brewer, his cat: Remmy Lovell, who Joshua referred to as his brother, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and best friends.

Critty loved Spiderman growing up. As a kid, he climbed on everything in favor of walking, and shot webs everywhere he went. He shared the love of football and boxing with his father and older brother, and participated in football from grade school age into his high school years. He graduated from Danville High School in 2016. Once the realization set in that he wasn’t Spiderman, and wasn’t going to play for the Chicago Bears, he began working in the roofing/construction business and took immense pride in his work.

Joshua communicated through music and was passionate about sharing that connection with the people closest to him. He always said he loved watching movies because that was one of the many ways he and his sister bonded, and that she introduced him to all his favorite movies. He had other passions, like video games, but the thing he may have loved most was making others laugh. Joshua had the most unforgettable, contagious laugh, and it made everything brighter. He was always the funniest person in the room. He loved his friends like they were family, and always looked out for those he cared about. He brought so much happiness and light to the lives around him. He was the most caring person, and would repeatedly say his biggest role models were his dad and his brother. He wanted everything he did to be for his friends and family, but especially his mom, as he always wanted to make her proud. He loved so deeply, and was so incredibly loved back. He was the most loyal son, brother, nephew, grandchild, and friend there could ever be.

The visitation will be from 4-7pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street, Danville, IL. 61832.
