Judy Kay Howell, 63 of Alabama and formerly of Danville, passed from this life to her Heavenly Home on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Thomas Hospital in Fair Hope, Alabama. Visitation will be on Friday, September 17th from 10-Noon with a 12pm service by Pastor Kent Tibben, all taking place at Kruger Coan Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery where Judy will be laid to rest beside her husband.
Judy was born on March 25, 1958 in Danville to William Oehmke and Virginia Stevens, where she spent her childhood. She attended East Park Grade School, Oak Lawn School, and Covington High School. On March 8, 1975 she married Douglas Howell and the two shared over thirty-three years of love and laughter together before his passing on December 30, 2009. Judy was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church before relocating to Alabama. She worked for many years at CIB as a teller and enjoyed her coworkers and the people she met. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, sitting on the porch enjoying the solitude, taking trips to the casinos, sneaking junk food to the grandchildren, and giving lots of love, hugs, and sloppy kisses.
Judy leaves behind her two children: Amanda (Mark) Mezo and Doug (Amanda) Howell Jr; her grandchildren: Austin, Jenna, Ian, Isaiah, Elias, Josiah, and Lincoln; her sister Theresa Willoughby; her step-mother Judy Oehmke; a special sister-in-law Sandy Skates; and her nieces, nephews, and hundreds of friends she has made throughout the years. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband Doug, and her brother-in-law Dan Willoughby.
