Judy Rae Riley, 76 of Danville, left this earthly world on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Hawthorne Inn of Danville. Visitation will be from 1-3pm on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Kruger Coan Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville, with services to follow at 3pm. Judy will later be laid to rest at Danville National Cemetery.
Judy was born on April 24, 1945 in Cumberland, Maryland to Kyle and Alene (Gulbronson) Sowers. She was raised in Cumberland where she attended Fort Hill High School, graduating in 1963. After moving to the Danville area she took courses at Danville Junior College, and began working at Quaker as a Packaging Operator. Judy retired in 2003 after thirty years at Quaker. When she wasn’t working or raising her family, she could often be found with her friends playing BUNCO or catching up, bike riding, or camping with her husband Walter. She loyally attended Grape Creek Baptist Church for the past fifteen years.
On April 11, 1987, Judy married Walter Riley and the two have been inseparable ever since. Besides her loving husband, she leaves behind her children: Cynthia Linton, Bradley Linton, Larry Linton, and Betty Lou Noble; her five grandchildren: Megan, Andilynn, Zachary, Payton, and Larry T. Linton; and her nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, and two grandsons: Kyle and Brady.
