Judy J (Goodwin) Truex

  With sadness we announce the passing of Judith Joy Truex, 84 of Danville.  She passed away on Saturday, June 27th at Franciscan Healthcare in Crawfordsville. Graveside services have been planned for Wednesday, July 1st at 10:00 am at Danville National Cemetery with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating.

   Judy was born in Danville on March 27, 1942, to Don and Mabel (Ellis) Goodwin. She attended Diamond Grade school and Oakwood High School, graduating in 1960.  After her youngest began school, she started working for Dr. Levin and Dr. Passo, and later worked at Carle Danville Clinic in the X-Ray department until she retired in 2005. 

   Judy had a fun sense of humor and enjoyed any time with her kids and family. Get-togethers were always filled with so much love and laughter.  Judy also had a love for collecting old dolls which became especially funny when she was blessed with her “magnificent seven” grandsons!  She embraced being a grandma to boys and loved every one of them with so much pride. 

   Judy married Harvey Leon Truex Sr. on October 16, 1960, and the two have shared over sixty-five years together. She will be dearly missed not only by her husband, but also her children, Leanne (Richard) Haynes, Skip (Kelly) Truex and Melissa (Patrick) Sergent.  Her grandchildren, Jordan (Chelsea) Haynes, Zachary (Seth) Truex, Taylor (Ariel) Haynes, Cole (Kynedi) Truex, Lucas (Sandy) Haynes, Jesse Cortapassi and Gabriel (Sierra) Cortapassi.  Great-Grandchildren, Averie, Kiera, Austyn, Ellie, Hazel, Winnie, Harvey, Adisyn, Lucy, Wyatt and Thomas.   She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Donald “Bud” Goodwin and Barbara Hazelbaker, and her brother-in-laws Gordon Carr and Cliff Hazelbaker.
