Kathy Sue Liffick, 66 of Danville, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. A memorial service will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 10am at Grace Community Church, 1629 King Street in Tilton.
Kathy was born on October 23, 1957 in Danville to Charles and Ethel (Harrison) McClain. She attended Danville Schools, graduating from Danville High School in 1975. Kathy went on to take some classes at DACC for a few years, studying general courses and even planning to go back earlier this year! Throughout the years Kathy worked at many places including First National Bank, Hyster, Toby’s Café, County Market, and WalMart. From clerical to cashier, she did it all. When she wasn’t working, Kathy was a crochet fanatic and the best Mom and Nanny there was. Spending time with the family and loving on her grandbabies was her number one priority.
Kathy married John Liffick in 2009 and the two have shared the past fourteen years together. She leaves behind her husband John; her children: Miranda Herron, Jesse (Alyssa) Herron, Erin Barnes, Jordan (Krystal) Harvey, Michelle (Eddie) Smith, Tina Wishon, Kimi Hutton, and Mikey Morris; twenty-two spoiled and much-loved grandchildren; and five brothers and sisters: Judy (David) May, Lori (Chuck) Carlson, Dewey (Lisa) McClain, Wayne McClain, and Orville McClain. Dozens of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins will also miss Kathy greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, a sister Judy May, and a nephew Charles “Chunk” McClain.
