Kathy Ann (Taylor) Stitt

   Kathy Ann Stitt, 67 of Danville, passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-9pm on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Tilton Community Center, 612 W. 5th Street in Tilton. Please feel free to come casual.

   Kathy was born in Danville on June 17, 1958 to Charles and Sonna (Howell) Taylor. She attended Oakwood schools, graduating from Oakwood High School in 1976. Kathy worked at Heatcraft as an assembly line worker until she retired in 2007. She enjoyed gardening and shopping with her close friend Becky Miles.

   Kathy married Kenneth Stitt on November 9, 1984, and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2002. She leaves behind her children: LuAnn Grimm, Jimmy (Jamie) Stitt, Courtney (Mike) Montel, Shelbey (Kevin) Taylor, Robert “Buddy” (Julie) Stitt, Melissa (Jeremy) Gaskill, Kerri Koch, and Kayli Koch (Matt); ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Her significant other, Mark Koch, who she has spent the past twenty years with, will also miss her greatly. Kathy also leaves behind her siblings: Luann (Norland) Kinney, Jed Taylor, Steve Talbert (Vickie), and Cheryl (Warren) Buck; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins who were very special to her. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Sonna Taylor, her stepmother: Helen Taylor, a brother: Jim Talbert, her husband Kenny, two infant children: Charles and Laura, a granddaughter: Maddyx, and a son-in-law: Barry Grimm.

The family requests that no flowers be sent, but that memorials be made to the Richard L Owens Hospice Home in the form of twin sheet sets, towels, and toiletries. These items can be brought to Kathy’s Celebration of Life and the girls will transport them over there. Monetary donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
