Kristopher Anderson

   Kristopher “Kris” Anderson of Danville, IL passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at his home.

   Kris was born on September 26, 1977 in Danville to Richard and Carla (Johnson) Anderson. He attended Oakwood High School and DACC. He has worked at Hyster Company in Danville for many years.

   Kris was preceded in death by his father, uncles Steve Anderson and Erick Johnson, and his aunt Kathy Cole. He leaves behind his sons, Herrick and Rowen, his mother Carla, and a sister Rickie (Lance) Becker.

   Kris enjoyed the outside, sometimes to a fault. Walking through the wood and discovering new plants was his favorite activity. Spring catalogs cover his tables in search of new plants to cultivate. Any and all life was precious to him, whether it be plant, animal, or insect. If it was good for the eco system, he would try to save it.

   Kris loved art throughout his entire life. Alongside his many notes and catalogs of plants you would find sketches of new tattoo ideas or amazing drawings of mythical creatures like dragons. Despite the limitations he faced after his stroke, he discovered that he could use photography to help the creativity that still resonated in his body. His phone is full of photos of insects and plants that he found fascinating during his explorations.

   He enjoyed learning new things. And through that he was able to help others learn. The term “he would give you the shirt off his back” describes Kris so well to his friends, most who were lifelong. To know him, was to love him. He loved a good conversation, one that would challenge his mind. If you could do that, you just found yourself a new friend.

   Vikings were a fascination with him and a Viking funeral would be his preference, but because that is illegal, we will be celebrating his life with a Memorial Visitation on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville from 4-7pm.
