Larry Gerome Wilson, 72, of Danville, died peacefully on Tuesday April 7, 2020.
Larry, born March 31, 1948, lived & attended school in the Danville, IL, area most of his life. He served Active Duty in the United States Air Force from April 21,1967- April 20, 1971, as a jet engine mechanic. He was employed many years by McCalman Construction Company until the company was sold, he continued to work as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic with Local 841.
On March 28, 1972, he married Rebecca May Shepherd. She preceded him in death April 30, 2011. He was also preceded by a grandson, Scott Ryan, his parents, Paul R & Lethel A.V. (Johnson) Wilson, two brothers, Stanley & Robert, one sister, Patsy Polick, brother-in-law, Alvia McClure, sister-in-law, Jean Wilson.
He is survived by a son, Randy J (Tamara) Wilson, a daughter, Jenny Lynn (Alan) Roy, grandchildren, Whitney & Brady, Rebecca, James, Rachel, & Keith.
He is also survived by four brothers, his twin, Lloyd G. (Terry) VA, Jerry L. (Anne) IL, Michael L. SC, William P. (Charity) IL, two sisters, Delores L. McClure AZ, Ona P. (Claude) Osborne FL, brother-in-law, Bill Polick IL, sister-in-law, Dlorah Wilson, and several nieces and nephews.
Larry enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, target shooting and spending time with his family. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at the Danville National Cemetery, at a later date.
