Laura Ann Park, 85 of Danville, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, 1211 N. Vermilion Street in Danville on Friday, July 18th from 10-Noon. A service will follow at Noon with Pastor Paul Rebert officiating. Following services Laura will be laid to rest in Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck.
Laura was born in Rossville on July 29, 1939 to Leo and Zona (Brake) Huffman. She attended Rossville-Alvin schools, graduating in 1957. Laura was hired right of high school by AAA in downtown Danville where she answered phones, sold insurance, and did travel planning for about three years. It was at AAA where she met the love of her life, Gerald. The two were married at First Baptist on January 16, 1960 and they’ve spent the last sixty-five years by one another’s sides. Laura would later manage her and Gerald’s business, Park Electric.
Laura is a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery, helped with Vacation Bible School, and was ready to lend a hand with whatever might be needed. She was very involved with her boys, and enjoyed being room mother while they were in school. Laura spent her down time crocheting afghans and being outdoors. Her yard was her pride and joy.
Laura leaves behind her husband Gerald; her two sons: Tim (Mary) Park and Steve Park; seven grandchildren: Amanda (Jason) Downing, Holly (Corey) Pankow, Sabrina (Caleb) Melton, Ian (Melanie) Park, Aaron Park, Daniel Park, and Kara Park; three great-grandchildren: Eliza Downing, Colton Pankow, and Jaden Park; and a daughter-in-law: Wendy Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Juanita Graefen and Mary Louise Randolph, and a son: Michael Park.
