Lori Ann “Momma” Burton, left us peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, at 9:54pm. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Kruger Coan Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville from 4-7pm. Following visitation, she will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at 11am on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Songer Cemetery in Tilton. Anyone wishing to join in the funeral procession should meet at the funeral home at 10:30am that day.
Lori was born at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Danville on March 22, 1960 to Curtis and Hildred (Uplinger) Volkel. She attended North Vermillion schools, graduating in 1979. Lori loved children and made a career of babysitting and caring for her family and her home. She loved to play BINGO, work around the farm, spend time with her family and friends, and bake. She was an amazing baker and cook, and was well known for her homemade noodles, fudge and Amish bread.
Lori married Joseph J. Burton Jr. on July 3, 1993 and he passed away on August 18th of this year. She leaves behind her four children: Joseph (Megan) Burton, Kevin (Angie) Burton, Sarah Burton, and Lori Wittig; her six grandchildren: Melissa, Amanda, Alexandra, Terran, Logan, and Nick; several great grandchildren; a brother Len (Jeanie) Volkel; and her mother Hildred Volkel. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, and her husband.
