Louis Manly Patton, 87 of Danville, passed away at Pleasant Meadows of Chrisman on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Visitation will be from 11-1pm (IL time) on Thursday, November 20th at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Services will follow at 1pm with Pastor Tom Hunter officiating. Following services Louis will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington.
Louis was born to Louis I. and Sarah M. (Richardson) Patton on October 20, 1938. He married Barbara Faye Lee on June 16, 1961, and they were married for fifty years until her death. Following her passing, Louis married Nyrita Minyen in 2011, and she survives.
Louis was drafted into the US Army on January 18, 1962 and he proudly served until December of 1963. He received the Good Conduct Medal. Following his return from the service, Louis worked at C & D Technologies in Attica until his retirement in 2003. He was a deacon in his church in Veedersburg for forty years, and loved to garden and work in his yard. He also enjoyed dogs.
Louis leaves behind his wife Nyrita; his three children: Derrek (Tania) Patton, Diana Aping, and Angela (Matt) Smith; five grandchildren: Kole, Kyle, Noah, Luke, and Emily; his stepson: Tim (Giselle) Lowe; and his step-grandchildren: Jessie, Dustin, Jacob, Derek, Dane, Megan, Jordan, and Meghan. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marjorie, his wife Barbara, and a son-in-law: Kurt Aping, whom he loved very much.
Nyrita would like to extend her sincere love and appreciation to Tim and Giselle Lowe, and to Lannie and Linda Gregory for their support and care over the past several months.
