Mark "Tiny" Knicely passed away at the OSF Hospital in Danville IL on the 9th of May 2019. Mark just celebrated his 55th Birthday at his home in Danville on April 28th. He was born at Scott Air Force Base in Bellville IL to Hebert M. Knicely and Janet P. Knicely. Mark was raised in Illinois, Indiana, Texas and West Virginia. He was a self-taught mechanic who recently completed his Degree in Auto Mechanics. He enjoyed the work as much as he enjoyed teaching others how to work on vehicles. Mark loved working on Motorcycles more the anything and at one point built his own. He wanted to open his own Father and Son Mechanic Shop with his son Hank, to whom he passed along his love of mechanical work. Mark loved making children smile and he would often recycle bicycles to give to local children who did not have the means to get their own. He was often called Hagrid, because of his beard and long hair.
Mark was a loving Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Doggie Daddy. He is Preceded by his father Herbert M. Knicely. He is survived by his mother Janet P. Knicely, his wife Karen L. Knicely, his son Hank W. Knicely, his Daughter Holly N. Stitt, Son in Law Jonah D. Stitt, and grandson Trenton A. Mountry as well as his many "Adopted Children & Grandchildren". In addition to immediate family, Mark had a plethora of loving relatives and close family friends. Mark had a huge heart full of love and laughter. His response to most every situation was joke or a smart-alack comment, because he liked to make people laugh. He will be missed.
Memorial Visitation will be from 11:00am - 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Memorial Service will follow at 1:00pm Wednesday at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home
