Marvin Eugene Laker

Marvin Eugene Laker, 73, of Danville, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.  Visitation will be from 11-1pm, Friday, January 31, 2020 at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville.  Service will follow at 1:00pm on Friday at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating.  Burial will follow at Atherton Cemetery.

Marvin was born November 3, 1946 in Danville to John and Dorothy (Middleton) Laker.  He worked at Chuckles/Grist Mills in Danville until they closed.  He later work at Guardian West in Champaign.  He loved watching all types of sports, and especially loved the Colts, Mets, and Lakers.  He loved spending time with his family, grandkids and great-grandkids, and was often working on puzzles.

Marvin married Connie Krout, and they had 3 children:  Dianna Laker Drake, Michelle (Ricky) Miller, and Michael (Donna) Laker.  Marvin later married Cindy Swider, she survives.  He is also survived by his 3 children; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers:  John W. Laker (Karen Lowenstein) and Rex A. (Pam) Laker; 2 sisters:  Darlene (Gene) Wright, and Karen (Timothy) Powell, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Connie, and son Marvin Eugene Laker Jr.
