Mary Meyers Obituary

   Mary Ann Meyers, 83 of Danville, passed away at OSF Sacred Heart in Danville at 6:35pm on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Services will be at 2pm on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior.

   Mary Ann was born in Danville on March 14, 1941 to Cecil and Thelma (Rogers) Childs. She attended Danville schools, graduating from DHS in 1959, and then going on to attend classes at Danville Area Junior College where she earned an Associate’s degree in medical studies. Mary Ann worked at General Electric, retiring when they closed in 2000, and going on to work in retail at Target, a local tobacco store, and then WalMart. She enjoyed flowers, shopping, and hosting parties and events for her family and friends.

   Mary Ann married Charles “Gary” Meyers in November of 1964, and the two shared over fifty-six years together before his passing in 2021. She leaves behind her two daughters: Pam Thornsbrough and Cheri (Chester) Powell; a sister: Rosemary Dines; her grandchildren: Nicki Thornsbrough, Joston Powell, and Charlie Powell; great-grandchildren: Trinity, Kaitlyn, Tucker, Joseph, and Anna. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Gary.
