Mary Lynn (Jackson) Palcisko

February 5, 1931 ~ April 10, 2022 (age 91)


   Mary Lynn Palcisko, 91 of Lebanon and formerly of Plainfield, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Homewood Health Care in Lebanon. Graveside services will be on Thursday, April 14th at 2:30pm CST (3:30pm EST)  at Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola  ( Pastor Phil Jackson will officiate.

   Mary was born on February 5, 1931 in Sidell, Illinois to Carl and Ardath (Lewis) Jackson. She attended Danville High School, graduating in 1949, and later going on to attend Northwestern University where she earned a Masters Degree in Education. Mary taught for twenty-six years at Plainfield Elementary as a second-grade teacher. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed her novels, reading at times five to six books a week, until just the past year.

   Mary wed Andy Palcisko on June 22, 1978 in Las Vegas, and he died just a short time later. Surviving are Mary’s two sons: Mark Sterling (Lisa Murphy) and Curtis Sterling; her grandchildren: Drake (Sarah) Sterling and Lauren (Timothy) Dickson; and three great-grandchildren: Gunner, Sadie, and Olivia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Andy, her two brothers, and her only sister.
