Mary Ann Poggendorf

Mary A. Poggendorf, 81 of Danville, passed away at Hawthorne Inn of Danville at 2:20am on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Visitation will be on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 12-1pm with funeral services following at 1pm. Pastor Raymie Gordon will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

   Mary was born on April 15, 1940 in Hoopeston, Illinois to John and Clara (Andrews) Beggs. She attended East Lynn area schools, graduating in the late fifties, and going on to work at the Danville VA where she was trained to be a Physical Therapist. She enjoyed her job and worked there for over twenty-five years. In her free time Mary could often be found working in her backyard and testing new recipes on her grandchildren. 

   Mary leaves behind her grandsons Ryan(Annie) Poggendorf and Michael (Jill) Poggendorf Jr.; four great grandchildren: Madison, Elliana, and Evan Poggendorf and Michael Hack. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Carol, and her son Michael Poggendorf Sr.
