Michael A. McHone, 69 of Danville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at his home. Visitation will be from 10-Noon on Saturday, December 31st at Kruger Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville, with funeral services following at Noon with Ann Schwartz officiating. Burial will take place in Johnson Cemetery.
Mike was born on July 17, 1953 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Danville to Jessie Russell and Doris (Hoaks) McHone. He attended Danville grade schools and Danville High School, graduating in 1971. Mike went on to work for thirty-five years as a vendor repairman for PepsiCo and was known as ‘The Pepsi Man” right up until his retirement in 2011. Mike enjoyed spending time in solitude- watching old TV shows and crime shows, as well as listening to his vinyl records. His beloved car “Maudy,” a 1978 Chevrolet Caprice Classic, was a staple in his life for over thirty years until 2014 when he had to let her go.
Mike married Barbara “Bobbie” Faulkner on April 28, 1973 and the two have shared the past forty-nine years by each other’s sides. He leaves behind his wife Bobbie; two children: Sarah (David) McHone-Chase and Seth (Julie) McHone; his four grandchildren: Iris, Tyler, and Xavier McHone-Chase, and Addison McHone; a sister: Catherine (Gary) Hicks; and his three brothers: Bruce McHone, Marc McHone, and Brian (Dawn) McHone. Numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews will also miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Phyllis Douglas, and an infant sister Brenda.
